Fund accounting data-entry time estimator
See how many hours a month your team spends keying invoices, bank statement lines and custodian statement rows, and how much of that becomes checking an extract instead. You supply every number.
Illustrative only, not a guarantee or a forecast. Real time depends on your fund size, how often you process each document, document quality and how long your team takes to key and to check. Built by aama.io.
About this tool
Much of fund accounting is still retyping: the supplier invoice becomes a journal voucher, each bank statement line becomes an entry, and each custodian statement is rebuilt into holdings and movements. How long that takes depends on your fund size, how many documents arrive each month and how fast your team works.
This estimator makes that workload visible. You enter your own volumes and timings for three document types, and it shows the hours spent keying by hand, the hours spent checking an extract instead, and the time that moves from typing to checking. A person still reviews every extract and posts every journal voucher, so the review time stays in the answer.
How to use it
- Enter how many supplier invoices, bank statement lines and custodian statement rows you process in a typical month.
- Enter how many minutes it takes your team to key one by hand, and how many minutes to check one extract that has already been read for you.
- Read the monthly and yearly hours, then use Copy share link to send the exact numbers to a colleague.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this estimate?
It is only as accurate as the numbers you enter. The starting values are placeholders, and the tool makes no claim about what you will save. Time depends on fund size, document volume and quality, and how long your team takes to key and to check.
Does checking an extract take as long as keying?
It can. If your checking time is close to your keying time, the tool says no time moves. A person still reviews every extract, corrects anything that looks wrong and posts every journal voucher, so review time is part of the answer.
Which documents does the tool cover?
Supplier invoices, bank statement lines and custodian statement rows (holdings and securities movements). These are the three documents AI-assisted fund accounting reads and returns as structured fields for a person to check.
Does it include ledger mapping or learning?
No. The estimator only compares keying with checking. Suggested ledger mapping, and learning from earlier mappings, are not modelled.
Does anything post to the ledger automatically?
No. Nothing is posted until a person accepts the extract, and a person posts each journal voucher.
